Division of Biology to host Career Development Workshop Series

The Division of Biology is hosting a Career Development Workshop Series Feb. 19 and 26.
All workshops are designed specifically to help students in the biological sciences and pre-health pathways in their career development.
No RSVP necessary. All majors are welcome to attend.
Interview Prep Seminar, 5-6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, Ackert Hall Room 232. Do you want to prepare for upcoming interviews for internships, graduate school, vet med and health professional programs, or jobs? Join us and learn how to prepare for interviews. The Career Center will provide a lot of great guidance on what to expect in different types of interviews.
Your Financial Future 5-6 p.m. Monday Feb. 26, two concurrent sessions:
- Financing Your Professional Journey — Ackert Hall Room 232. Want to buy your own practice post-graduation? Create a plan to pay off your student debts? Or simply live your best fiscal life? As a pre-professional student, you can alleviate stress and prepare financially for academic ambitions. Join our pre-professional workshop where financial experts from K-State Financial Futures will offer insightful information that will focus upon budgeting, money management, debt and future — including investing. Applicable examples and case studies will be discussed, so you can envision future decisions and build the habits today that will help you shape your future. Note: Though targeting pre-professional human-health and veterinary medicine students, this workshop would also be useful for those planning on master's or doctoral programs.
- Transitioning to Work Seminar — Ackert Hall Room 231. After college, life gets a lot more "real." As a student transitioning to industry after graduation, you can alleviate stress and prepare financially for your career. Join our transitioning to industry seminar where financial experts from K-State Financial Futures will offer insightful information that will focus upon budgeting, credit, student loan repayment plans, salary/benefit negotiations and future employer retirement strategies, so you can envision future decisions and build the habits today that will help you shape your future.
