Annual PPI Intern Symposium highlights sustainability efforts
The K-State Pollution Prevention Institute, or PPI, is hosting its annual PPI Intern Symposium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in Suite 300 of the Unger Complex, 2323 Anderson Ave. in Manhattan. The event is also available virtually via webinar.
The PPI Intern Symposium will showcase the summer experiences and pollution prevention recommendations of PPI interns. The PPI intern program is funded by the EPA and aims to help Kansas businesses reduce energy, water and hazardous chemical usage.
This year's symposium promises an insightful day filled with presentations from dedicated interns. Attendees will hear firsthand how these young professionals have contributed to making substantial improvements in a variety of industries, including metal fabrication, aerospace, chemical processing, wood manufacturing and health care.
The event offers a valuable opportunity for industry professionals, educators and the general public to learn about effective pollution prevention strategies and sustainability practices. It also provides a platform for interns to share their impactful projects and recommendations with a broader audience.
The event is free, but registration is required for both in-person and virtual attendance. For more information or to register, visit the event website.
