University Research Compliance Office to change name to Office of Research Integrity, Compliance and Security
As of Aug. 1, the University Research Compliance Office, or URCO, has officially been renamed the Office of Research Integrity, Compliance and Security, or ORICS.
This change reflects the office's expanded oversight responsibilities, which now include comprehensive research security and facility security.
"ORICS is dedicated to ensuring that all research activities comply with federal, state and university regulations regarding research compliance and research security," said Brad Woods, associate vice president for research. "Our security mission encompasses safeguarding sensitive data, protecting intellectual property and ensuring the physical security of our research facilities."
In addition, the newly expanded office will house the university's research security officer/facility security officer (search ongoing), who will oversee these critical areas.
"We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, compliance and security in all research endeavors," Woods said.
