College of Business Administration expands microcredential offerings for fall 2024 and beyond

Submitted by Ruthie Gergeni

The College of Business Administration at Kansas State University is launching 13 badge courses this fall.

These courses cover a diverse range of valuable business topics, including Inclusive Management, Sports Analytics, Financial Data for Small Businesses, Data Analytics, SQL, Research Methods with AI, Cloud Computing and Strategic Innovations, among others.

Looking ahead to spring 2025, the college plans to expand its offerings with more than 11 additional badge courses, continuing its commitment to providing accessible, market-aligned educational opportunities.

"We are thrilled to expand our microcredential offerings this fall, addressing the growing demand for flexible, targeted learning opportunities that equip professionals and students with the skills they need to excel in today's fast-paced business environment," said Chwen Sheu, associate dean for academic programs. "Our badge courses are designed to be both accessible and immediately impactful, reflecting our commitment to delivering high-quality education that meets the needs of our learners and corporate partners alike."

Since the introduction of this program in 2020, the college has developed 24 badge courses. Each badge course is fully online, requiring approximately 25 hours of learning, with direct access to award-winning faculty for guidance and support throughout.

"The true definition of success in a course is not just the transfer of knowledge but the application of said knowledge," said Dan Bergen, director of data analytics at Centralized Supply Chain Services. "Without the strategic innovation badge program from the College of Business Administration, Centralized Supply Chain Services would not have the dedicated focus and processes around innovation that we do today."

The microcredential program has proven to be a valuable resource for corporate training, professional reskilling and enhancement of the academic experience for K-State students and alumni.
