The University Committee on Religious, Spirituality and Nonreligious Diversity presents the global observance information for Aug. 19 to Aug. 25. 

Raksha Bandan — Monday, Aug. 19. Tradition: Hinduism. Also abbreviated to Rakhi, it is the Hindu festival that celebrates brotherhood and love. It is celebrated on the full moon in the month of Sravana in the lunar calendar.

The University Committee on Religious, Spiritual and Nonreligious Diversity offers these weekly announcements in partial fulfillment of its mandate to ensure that K-Staters of all religious, spiritual and nonreligious backgrounds are seen as valued members of our community.
