Join Wildcats Give $10 to Cure Cancer initiative
The Wildcats Give $10 to Cure Cancer initiative, or WG10-2C, returns this fall. The initiative encourages all members of the Wildcat family to contribute to cancer research at K-State by donating as little as $10 for the month of October.
This campaign supports the Johnson Cancer Research Center by raising critical funds for faculty and student researchers conducting groundbreaking cancer studies. The 2024 goal is to raise $25,000, with a weekly target of $5,000. Contributions will directly fuel innovative projects that drive progress in cancer research.
"The WG10-2C initiative allows everyone in the Wildcat family to contribute directly to cancer research happening right here at K-State," said Sherry Fleming, director of the Johnson Cancer Research Center. "We believe that even a modest contribution of $10 can make a significant impact when we all work together."
The center is dedicated to advancing cancer prevention, detection, treatment and education while training the next generation of scientists. With donations fueling its competitive awards programs, the center ensures that scientists and students have the necessary resources to push forward in their work.
Contributions can be made online or via the QR code. All Wildcats are encouraged to spread the word to friends, family and fellow supporters.
The center's slogan, "The Cure Starts with Us," reflects the importance of communitywide participation.
"If every K-State student, faculty member and Wildcat supporter gives just $10, we can easily reach our goal and contribute meaningfully to the future of cancer research," Fleming added.
The Johnson Cancer Research Center at Kansas State University is at the forefront of cutting-edge cancer research, committed to advancing knowledge and fostering innovation in the fight against cancer. By supporting faculty, students and fellows, the center strives to make meaningful contributions to the field while nurturing the development of future leaders in cancer research.
