International travel and activities guidance, resources available

Submitted by Risk and Compliance

While K-State recognizes that faculty, staff and students benefit from traveling outside of the United States for university purposes, we can't ignore that international travel and activities create risk for travelers and the university. To help, the university provides resources for travelers to manage these risks and maximize their experiences.

Booking airfare

K-State employees are required to book airfare in Concur when engaged in university-sponsored international travel or activities. Employees can plan travel, track expenses and manage purchase cards using Concur Travel and Expense.

International travel registration

K-State employees and students engaged in university-sponsored international travel or activities are required to register their trips 14 days before departure. Travel registration provides the university with the information necessary to conduct risk assessments, export controls compliance review, locate travelers, and provide information or assistance in a crisis or emergency.

Faculty and staff can register their trips using the International Travel registration form. Students participating in programs administered by the Education Abroad office can register their travel through the Education Abroad website.

International travel insurance and assistance

K-State employees and students are covered by the On Call International Global Assistance and Insurance program when engaged in university-sponsored international travel or activities. Visit the Travel Insurance and Assistance Services website to view OnCall's contact information and a summary of services.
