Incorporating mindfulness into your day can improve your well-being
Mindfulness is a powerful practice that encourages individuals to be present and fully engaged in the moment, fostering a deeper awareness of thoughts, feelings and surroundings. For students, this practice can be particularly beneficial, as research shows it can lead to a 30% reduction in anxiety symptoms and improve academic performance by enhancing focus and concentration. By incorporating mindfulness techniques into their routines, students can better manage stress from exams and deadlines, improve emotional regulation during challenging times and cultivate a greater sense of well-being. Embracing mindfulness can help navigate the ups and downs of college life with greater resilience and clarity.
Lafene Counseling and Psychological Services, or CAPS, is offering a virtual mindful moment to rejuvenate your mind today at 1 p.m. The session will be led by Arianna Williams, a licensed clinical professional counselor from CAPS.
Lafene CAPS is the primary mental health resource for K-State students, providing consultations, workshops, group and individual therapy.
