Kansas Water Institute to offer funding for equipment acquisition
The Kansas Water Institute will provide up to $1 million in funding for equipment acquisitions that advance water-related research, teaching or engagement. Proposals requesting between $50,000 and $250,000 are invited. To be eligible, colleges, departments or units must commit to a 25% match.
The deadline for applications is Jan. 10, 2025. Application instructions and other details are available online.
"We are excited to offer this opportunity to support water-related research in every college and department at K-State," said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute. "It is our hope that these funds will result in innovation and collaboration that addresses the complex water resource challenges we're facing."
Successful applicants will include details about how the equipment will help address one or more of the guiding principles of the Kansas State Water Plan. These principles include conserving and extending the High Plains Aquifer, protecting and restoring Kansas reservoirs, improving state water quality, reducing vulnerability to extreme events and increasing awareness of Kansas water resources.
Awards will be announced by Jan. 30, 2025.
