Valentina Trinetta named recipient of 2023-2024 KAWSE Award
Valentina Trinetta, associate professor in the animal sciences and industry department, is the 2023-2024 recipient of the KAWSE Award. The KAWSE Award honors exceptional efforts undertaken by a K-State faculty or staff member to enrich the lives of girls and women in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, disciplines.
Trinetta's commitment to enriching the lives of girls and women in STEM includes designing and facilitating hands-on workshops for KAWSE's GROW program for middle school students. Trinetta also served as the KAWSE faculty associate in spring 2023 while the executive director was on sabbatical. A KAWSE staff member wrote, "With even a brief hallway chat or casual office conversation, I derived a level of renewed passion for enriching the lives of girls and women in STEM."
Recipients of the KAWSE Award receive an engraved plaque and $500.
