Brainstorm short-term goals
We can achieve our purpose only by working toward short-term goals. For example, a widow may become knowledgeable about insurance and home ownership. The mother of the cystic fibrosis child decides to improve her relationship with her children. She also wants to become better engaged in her community to deal with the issue of child fatality.  The hurricane survivor wants shelter and food for his family. The mother of a child who has died may just want to get through one more day.

Goals are outcomes of action steps. They are the end or intermediate result. We achieve them by taking some action.

Encourage Friends to brainstorm all the possible short-term goals that will lead to achieving their purpose. Initially, don’t ask them to evaluate the goals. Just list as many as they can.
