❖ Anger reveals our passion for life
Nondestructive forms of anger can show that we have passion, life, and energy.
I am not suggesting that we wear our anger on our sleeve all of the time. Who wants to read a book where every sentence ends with an exclamation point! Too much anger can cause tremendous problems.
There are, however, defining moments when anger can be harnessed and then used as a display of psychological strength.
Can you recall a time in your childhood when your parent's anger was something they felt on your behalf (instead of you as an object of that anger)? If you have no recollection of such an event, then can you imagine a situation in which this might be true? Before continuing, record your example in your journal.
