Reacting to what cannot be changed
When someone important to us expects us to change what cannot be genuinely changed, we have two options. First, we could dispute the source and the pressure to be different. Second, we could accept the source and his or her demand. We could pretend to like what they want us to do or shape our personalities to conform to their wishes.
