The younger they are, the more likely it is that children will accept the verdict of the adult, especially if it’s a beloved parent.

So these children will try to be someone they are not in order to please the parent.

Unfortunately, this unnatural pretense is not going to last. It can be exhausting to pretend. At some point, children’s true nature will begin to appear. Children may then try to disguise what they begin to believe is a personal failure.
