Nancy Eisenberg, a researcher on altruism in children, found an interesting relationship between heart rate and generosity. She measured each young child’s heart rate while watching a video where a child actor pretended to be hurt and in need of help. Then she measured each child’s response in a situation where they had an opportunity to help another. What do you think was the relationship between heart rate watching the video and helping?
