#22 Ask for solutions
Advanced, ages 4-18
When children are calm enough to think, ask them how they might solve the problem. Have them identify as many solutions as possible. Then ask what they believe is the best solution. Be open to their ideas for solving problems.

Example:
Parent of Emily (12 years): You broke the window. What are some of the things you can do now to solve this problem? After some discussion Emily suggests (and her parent agrees) to purchase the glass from her small savings and replace the window with her father's help. (Restitution)
