Wallace assumes leadership role with National Extension Technology Community

Submitted by Patrice Scott

Joel Wallace

Joel Wallace, client support manager with the Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation, known as OEIE, is vice president-elect of the National Extension Technology Community, and assumed the leadership position in August. In 2020, he'll serve one year as vice president then ascend to the presidency in 2021.

The community of technology professionals work in a variety of ways to support the work and mission of Extension at their institutions. At OEIE, Wallace provides onsite technical support and leads a support team for the award-winning Program Evaluation and Reporting System, also known as PEARS, the web-based data management system that helps nutrition education professionals and Extension educators and administrators manage program data and demonstrate impact. Wallace has been with OEIE for nearly seven years.

"Joel demonstrates his commitment to quality every day at OEIE, K-State and across the country through PEARS," said Cynthia Shuman, College of Education acting associate dean for research and external funding. "This is an exciting opportunity for him to elevate and guide discussions about best practices for technology, program reporting and accountability."
