Teaching and Learning Center’s Professional Development Series
As part of the Teaching and Learning Center's Professional Development Series, Brandie Disberger, teaching associate professor of agricultural education, will present "A Comprehensive Curriculum Review Process" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 13, via Zoom.
Curriculum development and revisions are foundational to ensure a high-quality educational experience to prepare graduates for their careers but are often neglected and only made when changes are required. Realizing major changes were on the horizon with the KBOR general education requirement, the animal science program decided to conduct a comprehensive curriculum design process guided by the Developing a Curriculum process and Delphi surveys of faculty and stakeholders. This process included input from more than 200 individuals and yielded six new student learning outcomes connected to 37 competencies, curriculum maps connecting each of the service level objectives to required courses, identification of foundational required courses for all students, transitioning from six curriculum options to two and the creation of six new courses being developed or significantly modified to modernize the program offerings.
