Submitted by Office of the President
Kansas State University is set to take a significant leap forward in innovation and entrepreneurship by launching a collaborative new office space that promises to transform the university's approach to research commercialization, intellectual property, industry engagement and economic development.
From 2:30-5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, the K-State community and university partners are invited to the ribbon cutting to celebrate the bringing together of Kansas State University Research Foundation, Corporate Engagement and K-State 105 with a new office in the new Edge District building at 1960 Kimball Ave. Refreshments will be served.
"When we do great things in Kansas, we know we can do great things around the world. It all starts with the right team that works collaboratively," said President Richard Linton. "We have a great team in place and are excited to invite the community to see our new location. These new offices are critical to driving transformational discovery and creating tangible economic impact. In short, K-State is open for business."
Ribbon-cutting attendees will hear from key leaders, including Kansas Lt. Gov. and Secretary of Commerce David Toland, K-State Executive Vice President for External Engagement and Chief of Staff Marshall Stewart, Interim Vice President for Research Hans Coetzee and Linton. Remarks and the official ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m.
The event marks a pivotal moment in K-State's strategic vision and represents a comprehensive approach of bridging academic research with real-world applications to become a leading innovation hub. The new office space will streamline technology commercialization, foster robust industry partnerships, support faculty and student entrepreneurial efforts, and drive economic development in Kansas and beyond.
