Judges needed for State DECA Conference March 2 and 3
The College of Business Administration will host the high school Kansas DECA State Career Development Conference on campus March 2-4. Judges from the K-State community are needed to help provide feedback and score events. Judges must be must be at least two years out of high school.
More than 600 high school student participants will present in teams and individually as they compete in role-play, case study and prepared event competitions on Sunday, March 2, and Monday, March 3, to earn a spot to represent Kansas at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, this April.

DECA is an organization supported by the Kansas Department of Education and the K-State College of Business Administration to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, management, finance, hospitality and more.
All judges must bring and be able to use a personal device — laptop or tablet — to score and submit evaluations for student events.
Key points:
- Students will be expected to dress professionally as part of our guidelines. Judges are encouraged to wear business professional or business casual attire.
- Judging will take place between 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 2, and 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday, March 3. Individuals interested in judging can volunteer to to judge either or both days.
- All participants must be treated equally and respectfully regardless of race, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, etc.
- Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Garage parking will be paid for.
More specific guidelines and rubrics will be shared once you have been assigned to a competition.
