Encouraging prospective students: New student services can help

Submitted by New Student Services and the Office of Admissions

The new academic year also marks the beginning of the college search process for many families. New student services asks K-State faculty and staff to encourage prospective students to visit, connect and apply.

Visit

Visiting campus allows future Wildcats to discover why K-State is a great fit for them. Students may schedule a personal visit or attend one of the many on-campus events throughout the year.

"As a graduate of Manhattan High, I assumed I was familiar with all K-State had to offer," said Katy Zapletal, K-State admissions representative. "It was not until my personal visit to campus and meetings with K-State faculty and staff that I saw myself as a Wildcat. With the help of the K-State family, I was able to find a new home in the Little Apple."

Personal campus visits may be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday by calling 785-532-6250. Another option is to attend special events that are tailored to specific audiences throughout the year. Check out our website for a complete schedule.

Connect

Every prospective student is assigned an admissions representative. Students and families should consider their representative as a source of information about how to apply and access information on academic programs and more. Students may find their admissions representative through our website search tool.

Apply

Prospective students should apply for admissions, scholarships, financial assistance and housing. Admissions staff will provide timely reminders about application deadlines, important tasks and events. Prospective students should apply now for admission for spring, summer and fall 2015.

Students who are dependents of university employees may be eligible for the K-State Dependent/Spouse Tuition Grant Program. For further information, please visit the website for the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

New student services is always happy to answer questions or provide further information. Please call us at 785-532-6250. We look forward to connecting you and your students with the K-State Family.
