Political science faculty present at national conference

Several political science faculty members participated in the American Political Science Association meetings Aug. 28-31 in Washington, D.C.
Sam Bell, assistant professor, chaired the panel "EU, Non-State Organizations, and Political Networks" and served as a discussant on the panel "Social Media in Restrictive Regimes."
Nathaniel Birkhead, assistant professor, presented the papers "Dynamic Representation in American State Institutions" and "Frequency and Impact of Clashing Beliefs within State Executive Branches."
Sabri Ciftci, assistant professor, presented the paper "Religiousity, Social Justice, and Support for Religious Democracy in Muslim Polities."
Michael Flynn, assistant professor, presented the paper "Economic Interests and Major Power Relations in American Foreign Policy, 1890-1914."
Carla Martinez Machain, assistant professor, presented the paper "The Militarization of Foreign Aid."
