Chakrabarti, Donnelly, Phillips present at National Dance Education Organization conference
Laura Donnelly, School of Music, Theatre, and Dance; Amit Chakrabarti, head of K-State's physics department and the William and Joan Porter chair in physics; and Daniel Phillips, senior in physics and nuclear engineering, presented a panel discussion with composer Bryce Craig, Central Michigan University Master of Music candidate, at the National Dance Education Organization Conference Nov. 6 in Chicago.
Their presentation, "(a + b) x c = ?*!:) Dynamic Collaborative Exchange Leads to Unexpected Creativity," highlighted the best practices from their process creating the "Crystal Ballet." Topics included long-distance collaboration, Zoom cloud video conferencing technology, scientific theory as movement inspiration, and creative choices based on the intersection of science, music and dance.
