The Kansas State University accounting department recently awarded more than $240,000 worth of scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year at its annual scholarship gala.
In all, 173 scholarships were awarded to undergraduate and graduate students at the event. For undergraduates, there were 121 scholarships worth $144,250, while there were 52 scholarships awarded to students in the Master of Accountancy program, totaling $99,500.
"We are truly delighted that we were able to recognize so many of our outstanding students this year," said Brett Wilkinson, head of the Kansas State department of accounting and Robert G. Chapman endowed chair. "Our K-State accounting program is thriving. Over the past two years, our Master of Accountancy program has nearly doubled in size, and we awarded more scholarship support this year than ever before. We very much appreciate the investment that our donors and corporate partners are making in our students and our program. The future of K-State accounting is very bright indeed."
