Participate in the Bike Week Commuter Challenge next week
April 30 to May 4 is Bike Week for the city of Manhattan. As part of Bike Week activities, the city is organizing the 2012 Commuter Challenge, a competition among businesses and organizations in town to log the most miles biked or walked by employees throughout the week.
The Bike Week organizers encourages K-State departments and units to compete. Last year’s champions won a party sponsored by Tallgrass Brewery and recognition for their achievement, and there will be similar prizes for the highest per capita mileage this year.
If you want to sign up your department or unit, or would like more information on the 2012 Commuter Challenge, you can go to http://bikemanhattan.info/ and click on the link for the 2012 Commuter Challenge on the homepage. Use this link to input miles completed from biking to and from work. For more information, feel free to contact Joey Lightner at lightner@cityofmhk.com.
