Peace Corps: Education and Environment in Madagascar

Submitted by Becky Carnes

Madagascar: Avenue of Baobabs

Join the Office of International Programs from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, in 118 Bluemont Hall for a special collaborative exchange between the K-State and University of Kansas Peace Corps offices.

April Mathews, University of Kansas Peace Corps representative and art education faculty will share stories about her service in Madagascar — blending education and environmental conservation projects in one of the most bio-diverse environments in the world. She also will share about the life-changing opportunities available in the Peace Corps to K-State students in any major.

This event is co-sponsored by the College of Education and Education Student Council as a part of the Office of International Programs' lineup for International Education Week.

K-State Peace Corps representative Becky Carnes will visit the University of Kansas campus to meet with students in this unique exchange.
