Economics Club hosting discussion on school choice
The Economics Club, a registered departmental student organization, will host its annual debate/discussion on a current topic at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, on Zoom. The link to join the discussion is at ksu.zoom.us/my/dkuester.
All members of the K-State community are invited to attend this event virtually. This year, the topic is "A Discussion on School Choice" and it features two of the leading published economists in the world on this topic.
David Figlio is the dean of the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University, while Miguel Urquiola is the chair of the Department of Economics at Columbia University and the author of a book on why American universities excel at research: "Markets, Minds, and Money."
Because the Economics Club is unable to host its typical reception in person, students who are active in the club will have a chance to ask questions privately to the speakers on Monday, Oct. 5.
