Music, Theatre, and Dance students attend free trip to Lyric Opera of Kansas City
Submitted by the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance
Forty K-State students participated in a free student program to see a performance at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City on Sept. 21.
The performance occurred as part of the final dress rehearsal of "Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci," which allowed the students an opportunity to witness the full workings of a professional performing arts company with access to premiere box seats. Free transportation was also provided.
The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance offers K-State students in the performing arts opportunities to attend four professional productions in Kansas City throughout the school year. All music, theatre, and dance majors and minors in the school are eligible to attend these free field trips. Throughout the school year, students will attend a production at four nationally renowned performing arts organizations: the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, the Kansas City Ballet, the Kansas City Symphony and the Kansas City Repertory Theatre.
K-State students who are interested in attending and declaring a minor in music, theatre or dance may do so by filling out the Declare a Minor or Secondary Major form on the website.
