Join BFSA today for its annual Boyer/Switzer Lecture and Welcome Back Social
Join us today! The K-State Black Faculty and Staff Alliance presents its annual Boyer/Switzer Lecture Series and Welcome Back Social. The event will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Leadership Studies Building Town Hall, Room 114, or via Zoom. There will be cake, coffee and community.
The longstanding program honors K-State pillars and diversity pioneers James Boyer and Veryl Switzer while creating opportunities to highlight the research of our Black faculty as well as recruitment/retention activities for students, faculty and staff.
The lecture will feature Bernard Harris, retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and K-State alumnus, as he discusses "Resistance to Power." His talk will look at the lives of seven African American civilians growing up in segregated America who became members of a rare group of African American U.S. Army officers in World War I.
