Struggling to put your course syllabi together? Feeling overwhelmed with the features in Canvas? The Teaching & Learning Center and K-State instructional designers have your back!
Join us for a number of pre-semester instructional support events tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13, starting with two Zoom sessions in the morning:
- 9 a.m., Trina McCarty, K-State instructional designer, will present Designing Syllabi for Student Success, followed by a Q&A session. Attend this virtual session.
- 10 a.m., Don Saucier, university distinguished teaching scholar and faculty associate director of the Teaching & Learning Center, will present Creating syllabi that inform and inspire, followed by questions and discussion. Attend this virtual session.
Feel free to attend one or both sessions. These sessions will also be made available for asynchronous viewing on the Teaching & Learning Center’s website.
Join us in the afternoon for Drop-in Instructional Support in Hale Library 407 from 2-4 p.m. A team of instructional designers will be available for drop-in consultations related to the instructional design of your course. Examples include: syllabus, Canvas and other pedagogical choices. Light refreshments will be provided.
Instructional Design Services offers training in backward and accessible course design, assessments and activities. By combining their expertise and resources, they aim to design online credit programs, microcredentials and professional development opportunities that are tailored to your specific learners.
If you can’t join us on Tuesday afternoon, you can schedule a consultation by emailing gcid@k-state.edu or make an appointment directly on their calendar. Please make sure to give at least one day’s notice when scheduling.
Please direct any questions to Andie Faber, director of the New Faculty Institute, at afaber@k-state.edu.
