Join Bill Snyder in the Wildcat Challenge to Tackle Cancer
Submitted by Sarah E. Velasquez
Kansas State University's Johnson Cancer Research Center has launched its Fall 2024 Wildcat Challenge to Tackle Cancer, led by legendary former K-State head football coach Bill Snyder and Alpha Media's 580 WIBW. The annual campaign has raised $472,165 since 1995, making a significant impact on K-State's cancer research initiatives.
"As a cancer survivor, I know firsthand the critical role that research plays in saving lives," Snyder said.
Snyder emphasized that there's still much more work to do and cited the cancer center's slogan: "The Cure Starts With Us — Scientists, Students, and Supporters!"
K-State's Johnson Cancer Research Center is home to more than 80 multidisciplinary research teams dedicated to advancing cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Funds raised through the Wildcat Challenge support promising cancer research projects, including obtaining cutting-edge laboratory equipment and training future scientists and medical personnel.
The Wildcat Challenge invites everyone to join this life-saving mission. No matter the size, every donation brings us one step closer to better diagnostics, treatments and prevention.
