The newly elected officers are Shelby Starbuck, sophomore in elementary special education from Fredonia, as president; Anna Bajich, junior in secondary mathematics from Leawood, as vice president; Sadie Blackwell, sophomore in elementary education from Melissa, Texas, as treasurer; Mandalyn Otto, sophomore in secondary social studies from Manhattan, as secretary; and Nora Alferman, sophomore in elementary education from Overland Park, as public relations chair. Alex Watkins, sophomore in educational studies from Eudora, and Lucy Roy, freshman in elementary education from Shawnee, will serve as recruitment co-chairs. Conner Weatherby, sophomore in secondary mathematics from Lee's Summit, Missouri, will serve as new member training chair, while Sidney Harris, senior in elementary education from Maize, will chair Education Exploration Day. Haley Jefferson, sophomore in elementary special education from Castle Rock, Colorado, will serve as event chair.
The Education Ambassadors are a select group of students dedicated to representing the College of Education and inspiring future teachers. Members participate in recruitment events, mentor prospective students and share their passion for education.
"We are excited to welcome this new team of officers," said Marcus Kidd, the ambassadors' advisor and assistant director for enrollment management and institutional partnerships. "Their leadership and commitment to education will positively impact both the college and the future educators they inspire."
