K-State's New Prairie Press named in top 30 for OER directories
A recent article in the journal Publications named Kansas State University's New Prairie Press and open access textbooks in the top 30 of multidisciplinary directories of open education resources, or OERs.
William H. Walters, executive director of the Mary Alice and Tom O'Malley Library at Manhattan University, evaluated more than 350 online directories, lists and databases of OERs based on four criteria: total number of textbooks listed, selection criteria, ratio of textbooks to other OER materials and textbook quality.
The full open-access article, "Finding free OER textbooks online: Untangling the Web," is available online.
