Isabella 'Izzy' Furioso receives 2024 VMSD Scholarship + Experience
PAVE Global, in partnership with VMSD magazine, selected Isabella "Izzy" Furioso as the recipient of the prestigious 2024 VMSD Scholarship + Experience. Furioso, a fourth-year interior architecture student at Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning & Design, or APDesign, was chosen from a competitive field of applicants for her exceptional portfolio and visionary approach to retail design.
The VMSD Scholarship + Experience recognizes emerging talent in retail design and provides a platform for the next generation of designers to engage with leaders in the industry. Furioso's innovative work demonstrates a deep understanding of retail environments, blending functionality with creativity to enhance customer experiences. Her passion for creating dynamic, immersive spaces and her commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional retail design set her apart during the selection process.
As the scholarship recipient, Furioso will receive a financial award and a unique opportunity to participate in an immersive, hands-on learning experience with industry professionals. This experience will further her education and development as a future leader in retail design.
"APDesign is thrilled to support Izzy's journey as she continues to inspire the future of retail design," said Nathan Howe, professor and department head, interior architecture & industrial design. "Her talent and dedication exemplify the values we look for in our students, and we are excited to see how she will shape the industry moving forward."
VMSD magazine, a longtime supporter of the scholarship program, emphasized Furioso's potential as a future innovator in the retail design world.
Furioso expressed her gratitude for the recognition and the opportunities it presents.
"I am honored to receive the VMSD Scholarship + Experience and eager to learn from industry experts through this incredible program," she said. "This award motivates me to continue exploring the intersection of design, technology and customer experience in retail spaces."
