Supporting your mental health and well-being during the holidays

Submitted by Human Resources

The holiday season is a time of celebration and connection, but it can also bring challenges for many of us. Human Resources recognizes that this time of year can be stressful, overwhelming or emotionally difficult. Whether it's the pressure of holiday obligations, financial concerns or personal challenges, you are not alone — and your K-State family is here to support you.

Our Employee Assistance Program, or EAP, is a free, confidential resource available to benefits-eligible employees and their dependents. The EAP provides a variety of services to help you navigate life's challenges, including:

  • Confidential emotional support: Speak with a licensed professional to discuss stress, anxiety, grief or other personal concerns.

  • Financial and legal assistance: Receive guidance on managing holiday budgets or addressing legal questions.

  • Work-life solutions: Access resources about caring for children or elders, planning events, locating pet care or making home repairs.

  • Online support: Online resources like articles, podcasts, videos and on-demand trainings are available 24/7.

Accessing the EAP is simple. You can call 888-270-8897 or visit GuidanceResources to learn more about available resources. All inquiries and sessions are completely confidential.

As we enter the holiday season, please remember that taking care of your mental and emotional health is just as important as your physical health. If you or someone you know is feeling overwhelmed, don't hesitate to reach out for support.

Let's work together to ensure this season is one of care, compassion and connection for all.
