Apply now: Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol

Submitted by Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research

Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research encourages students to apply to present at Kansas Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol.

Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol showcases the work of up to 40 Kansas undergraduate student projects representing each of the state’s eight public four-year institutions. The purpose is to demonstrate the unique opportunities undergraduate students have to participate with faculty members in research at all state institutions. The day emphasizes higher education’s role in developing educated citizens and preparing a workforce with the necessary skills to further the economic and community growth of the state.

Scholar Development and Undergraduate Research, or SDUR, will select five students to present. Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol will take place from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Capitol Rotunda in Topeka. The application includes submission of a 200-word abstract and current resume, among other questions.

Presenters will be required to create a research poster, invite their state representatives and attend one preparation session with SDUR staff.

Poster printing, lunch and snack the day of, and transportation will be provided by SDUR. If necessary, SDUR staff will also offer communication with instructors validating class absences.

Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. Jan. 28. Learn more and apply now
