As part of K-State's designation as a Health-Promoting University and its commitment to holistic health and well-being for all employees, K-State's Human Resources department is partnering with Walk Kansas by offering K-State employees an introductory rate of $5/person when they register before March 17. The cost will increase to $10/person after this date. K-State employees should register in the "Kansas State University" group designation on the Walk Kansas website.
Walk Kansas is an eight-week team-based challenge tracking physical activity from K-State Research and Extension. Form or join a team with your coworkers, community, neighbors, family or others and improve your health by tracking minutes or steps spent participating in your favorite physical activities. Teams with at least four members — six recommended — and participate from any state or country. A solo participation option is available for those who prefer not to join a team.
Walk Kansas is celebrating 25 years of motivating Kansans to invest in their physical health and well-being. The program's success has grown from a local initiative to a statewide program. In addition to recording minutes of physical activity, participants track fruit, vegetable and water consumption. Weekly Walk Kansas newsletters and webinars provide additional tips and benefits for improving your health.
