As part of the Teaching and Learning Center's professional development series, Colby Moorberg will present "The K-State Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative, Open Textbook Platforms and Accessibility" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 5, via Zoom.
The cost of textbooks is a barrier to affordable higher education for many students. Open textbooks help reduce that cost while providing ways for instructors to adapt content to their course and improve accessibility for their students. Join us for an introduction to the K-State Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative, an overview of the two leading open textbook platforms – Pressbooks and LibreTexts — and a summary of methods to build accessibility into open textbooks to improve learning for all.
