Chemistry department awards more than $160,000 to undergraduate students

Thanks to the extraordinary generosity and loyalty of alumni and friends of the chemistry department at K-State, as well as through support from the American Chemical Society, more than 40 undergraduate students majoring in chemistry or chemical science have received scholarships totaling more than $160,000 this academic year.

Morgen Sumler received support from the Jerry P. and Geraldine L. Hefling Scholarship Fund. 

The following students received support from the Isobel and Dale Smith Chemistry Scholarship Fund:

  • Nina Brown
  • Zac Carnahan
  • Carson Cole

Diether Leach received support from the Dr. Duane L. and Virginia Eddy Barney Scholarship Fund and from the Chemistry Undergraduate Academic Scholarship Fund.

Erin Frenk received support from the Bernasek Family Chemistry Scholarship Fund.

Madeline Mairs received support from the James A. Branson Memorial Chemistry Scholarship Fund. 

Mason Metcalf received support from the Dow-KSU Alumni Chemistry Scholarship Fund and from the M. Dale and Janet Hawley Scholarship and Lecture Fund.

Prabhleen Kaur received support from the Baldwin Reinhold, Jr., Undergraduate Scholarship in Chemistry Fund.

The following students received support from the Lewis A. and Opal D. Gugliemelli Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry:

Maya Daily received support from the Dr. H.H. King Memorial Scholarship and Lectureship Fund, and Manzo-Lathrop Chemistry Scholarship Fund.

Hannah Kocour received support from the Phillip A. Van Winkle Memorial Scholarship Fund.
