K-State Gardens to dedicate new reflecting pool
The first phase of the K-State Gardens reflecting pool has been completed. The state-of-the-art, 16-by-45-foot pool is paralleled by two aquatic plant pools and two infinity ends.
To celebrate this achievement, the K-State community is invited to a formal dedication of the pool during the Friends of the Gardens annual September Stroll from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the K-State Gardens. Remarks from President Richard Linton and K-State Gardens Director Scott McElwain will begin at 5:30 p.m.
“We are so excited to be celebrating the reflecting pool’s completion with this dedication," McElwain said. "The pool is such a beautiful addition to the Gardens, the K-State campus and the Manhattan community. Please come out and join us in the Gardens during our annual September Stroll where you can enjoy the evening, help us dedicate the new reflecting pool and thank the donors that made it happen."
The Gardens will also be dedicating a sculpture in memory of Deloris Berland. Remarks at the sculpture will be given at 6 p.m.
The Gardens are at their peak, and it is a great time to stroll and enjoy their serenity and beauty. Light refreshments will be served, and music will be provided.
