Becoming next-gen together: Next-Gen K-State update from President Linton

Dear K-State community,

You've heard me say time and time again that Kansas State University will be the next-generation land-grant university. An institution that sets the standard for innovative learning, creativity, discovery and engagement that positively impacts Kansas and the world.

In order to bring this from a plan to a reality, it's going to take each and every one of us. From our three campuses to our colleges to our units, we need every single member of the K-State community engaged in this process.

That's why I am pleased to announce that the first round of strategic plans from our colleges and major units are available for you to see on the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan website as well as on the individual sites of each entity. This milestone marks a significant step toward bringing our plan to life, providing a road map for our collective efforts and representing an important commitment to innovation and excellence within our university.

In addition, these plans create valuable opportunities for engagement both within our university and externally. I encourage all faculty, staff and students to familiarize themselves with the relevant plans and explore ways to connect, elevate priorities and engage with one another. For instance, during my recent State of Our University address, I spoke about the Kansas Water Institute. If you are a faculty member studying water, now is the perfect time to dream big and collaborate on initiatives that align with our shared goals.

Looking ahead, I am excited to share that the second round of plans will be published in late February. I look forward to seeing how we can all work together to bring our vision to life.

Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our university. Together, we are building a brighter future for our community.

As always, Go 'Cats.

Richard Linton
