Jared McCartney awarded second place in 2024 Helena Northern Business Unit Intern Scholarship Awards
Jared McCartney, an undergraduate agronomy student, was awarded second place in the 2024 Northern Business Unit Intern of the Year Scholarship Awards presented by Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC. McCartney received $750 toward his education for his work as a Helena intern in Garden City during summer 2024.
Throughout his internship at Helena, McCartney worked with customers and assisted in agronomic and precision activities such as soil sampling, fertility planning and precision agriculture technology. He also collaborated with Helena staff to provide support and respond to grower needs.
Each summer, Helena Agri-Enterprises offers internships to college students across the Midwest. McCartney interned in their 2024 Northern Business Unit, which includes students from Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Wisconsin, and parts of Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. The 2024 Helena Northern Business Unit intern class was composed of 18 students from 12 universities.
