International Women's Day panel

The Manhattan, Kansas, Branch of the American Association of University Women, or AAUW, invites the Kansas State University and Manhattan community to the 10th annual celebration of International Women’s Day, "Celebrate Achievements, Address Challenges, and Accelerate Action."

The session will take place from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Manhattan Country Club, 1531 N. 10th St.

A panel discussion will be led by four distinguished Manhattanites: Chardie Baird, professor of sociology and executive director of the K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering; former Kansas Sen. Lana Oleen; Sheila Ellis-Glasper, founder of SEG Media Collective LLC; and Paige Vulgamore, student body president, K-State Student Governing Association.

The event will include a meet-and-greet social hour and dinner. Tickets are $30 for the general public and $20 for students. The panel discussion is free to all. Please make your reservation for dinner or email manhattanksaauw@gmail.com

Since 1881, AAUW has worked to advance the equity for women and girls — focusing on economic security, education and advocacy. With a nationwide network of 170,000 members, 1,000 local branches, and 800 college and university partners, including K-State. AAUW awards more than $4 million annually to support university education, research and community projects. K-State students can join the AAUW Manhattan Branch for free for opportunities to network with university, business and public leaders.
