DAIR streamlines federal reporting with new automation process
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, or IPEDS, is a system of annual surveys conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics, part of the U.S. Department of Education's Institute for Education Sciences. During three collection periods each year, K-State is required to report institutional data across 14 IPEDS surveys.
In a significant achievement, the Office of Data, Assessment and Institutional Research, or DAIR, has successfully automated the reporting of K-State's 12-month enrollment data. This automation process captures vital data on enrollment headcounts and instructional activities, categorized by demographics and distance education status, for the period spanning July 2023 to June 2024.
Special recognition goes to Geir Solvang and Yuhao Liu for their exceptional work in developing and implementing this new system. Their expertise and dedication ensured that the process is both efficient and accurate. Thanks to their efforts, K-State is now poised to expand automation to additional IPEDS surveys, reinforcing the university's commitment to innovation in data reporting.
