Teaching and Learning Center's Professional Development Series

Submitted by Ashley Schiffer

As part of the Teaching and Learning Center's Professional Development Series, Camilla Roberts, director of the Honor and Integrity System, will present a need-to-know event titled "Bringing Integrity Back to Basics" from noon to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 9, via Zoom.

The pandemic, political turmoil, artificial intelligence, budget cuts, war, inequities … the list could go on and on to label the many things affecting change in the educational environment. How can we continue to promote integrity and build a culture of integrity through this changing environment which seems to be pushing against integrity? This talk will explore how, if we bring integrity back to the basics, we have a chance. If we explore integrity through the lenses of the fundamental values and through meeting a student where they are in their development, we have a chance to make a positive change on the students we work with. The changing environment is here to stay, but we do not necessarily have to change all of our policies and all of our plans with each change if we focus on the core meaning of integrity.
