K-State 2025 Refresh Phases
The K-State 2025 Refresh was put on hold during 2020 as the university responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. Information gathered during the first three phases of the planning work is available to inform a new university strategic planning process to take the university beyond 2025.
Phase 1: Launch Plan Refresh (Sept.-Dec. 2019)
President Myers and Provost Taber shared a proposed vision statement and revised visionary goal with the university community. Comments on the revised vision, values, and the university metrics were collected through an online survey, the K-State 2025 email, and during the fall college/major unit visits.
Phase 2: Explore strategic initiatives (Oct. 2019-April 2020)
Facilitated planning groups were organized to explore four strategic areas of focus. Two of those groups met prior to the COVID-19 pandemic: the global food, health, and biosecurity and the innovation in education planning groups.
The strategic areas are:
- Global food, health, and biosecurity (Feb.-April 2020)
- Aviation
- The cyber land-grant university
- Innovation in education (Nov. 2019-March 2020)
Learn more about these strategic initiatives.
These initiatives are in addition to our ongoing focus on Student Success and Wellbeing as reflected in the SEM plan.
Phase 3: Announce vision and values (Feb.-March 2020)
Feedback and suggestions on the vision, values, university metrics, strategic initiatives, and other plan changes were compiled and shared during spring 2020.
Phases 4-6 (put on hold)
Phase 4: Form committee and draft updated plan
Phase 5: Share updated plan for feedback and report on the first ten years of K-State 2025
Phase 6: Roll out and transition to the updated plan
